Eligibility and booking
You must be at least 18, provide accurate information and hold a valid driving licence for the chosen vehicle class. An insurer or vehicle may require a higher age or driving experience; the team will disclose any such condition before confirming your rental. Every additional driver needs prior approval.
Submitting a request does not guarantee availability or authorise you to collect a vehicle. Document approval, a confirmed quote, an accepted lease agreement and the agreed payment and handover requirements must be completed first. All rental times use Africa/Nairobi (East Africa Time, UTC+3).
Vehicle use
Only drivers approved by ZoomRide may drive. Keep a valid driving licence for the vehicle class throughout the rental. Do not sublet, use the vehicle for unlawful activity, racing, towing without permission, or drive under the influence. Obtain written approval for travel outside the agreed area or across borders.
Care and return
Look after the vehicle, keys and accessories. Return it at the agreed place and time, with the recorded fuel level. Inspect it with ZoomRide at handover and return; record existing damage, mileage, fuel and supplied items before leaving. Contact the team promptly if you need an extension.
Damage and incidents
You are responsible for the full reasonable, evidenced cost of new damage, loss or theft for which you or an authorised driver are liable during the rental, subject to applicable law and any insurance cover agreed in writing. Pre-existing damage, fair wear and tear, and loss caused by ZoomRide are excluded. Insurance recoveries will be credited so you are not charged twice. Report accidents, theft, breakdowns and damage immediately; preserve evidence and make a police report where required. Do not arrange repairs or admit liability on ZoomRide’s behalf without permission, except action reasonably needed to protect people or prevent further damage.
Charges and payment
The confirmed rental price and any deposit, insurance excess, delivery, late-return or other charges must be disclosed and agreed before handover. You are responsible for lawful fines and tolls attributable to your use. Any additional claim will be supported by the condition report and relevant evidence; you may dispute it before settlement.
Cancellation and availability
A booking request is subject to document checks, vehicle availability and written confirmation. Any cancellation, refund or no-show rules will be stated in the confirmed quote before payment. If ZoomRide cannot supply the agreed vehicle, you may agree to an alternative or request repayment of amounts paid for the unavailable service.
Privacy and disputes
Identity and licence documents are private and used for identity checks, driving eligibility, rental security and related lawful claims. Review the Privacy Policy for processing and your rights. Contact ZoomRide first to resolve a concern. Kenyan law applies; mandatory consumer rights and lawful complaint or court options remain available.
Insurance, deposits and evidence
Do not assume the rental price includes comprehensive insurance, a damage waiver or a particular excess. Cover, exclusions, deposit amount and deposit refund arrangements must be confirmed in writing before handover. A deposit is not automatically the limit of your liability. ZoomRide will disclose and evidence a proposed deduction, account for insurance recoveries and return any undisputed balance under the agreed arrangements.
Record the vehicle’s condition together before and after the rental. Normal wear and pre-existing damage will not be charged as new damage. Any loss-of-use or other consequential charge must be lawful, reasonable, evidenced and expressly agreed; there is no automatic unlimited penalty.
Account and agreement records
Keep your sign-in details secure and contact the team if you suspect unauthorised use. The online agreement records your typed name, explicit acceptance, the approved rental details and an acceptance timestamp. It does not replace the joint physical inspection or any signature or documentation required at handover. You can view your accepted agreement from your booking.
Your legal rights
Nothing here removes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, excuses ZoomRide’s own negligence or misconduct, or permits double recovery. If a term is unenforceable, the remaining lawful terms continue. Any change to the approved vehicle, rental period or confirmed price requires a revised agreement rather than changing an accepted record silently.
